Construction site blaze

A fire broke out on a construction site at the Bund Finance Center on Renmin Road yesterday morning, engulfing scaffolding and causing damage of 10,000 yuan (US$1,642).
No injuries were reported. Police said the fire was caused by the improper use of cutting equipment. The site was temporarily suspended from operation. Two workers were given a 15-day detention.
