Ctrip travel agency draws most complaints
CANCELED trips, accommodation quality and delayed or aborted flights were the major tourism complaints last month, Shanghai’s tourism watchdog said yesterday.
The Shanghai Tourism Quality Supervision Center received 259 complaints involving 992 people in February, of which 110 were ruled to be valid complaints, involving 583 people.
The online travel operator Ctrip had the largest number of complaints, 43, among the 27 travel agencies cited.
Online travel operators Tuniu, with 10, and Tongchen, with four, garnered the most complaints after Ctrip.
Affected trips due to flight changes, tour guide problems, flight bookings, shopping, extra charges, accommodation, and tourism documents were among the complaints.
Hotel bookings were the cause of most complaints concerning domestic trips.
