Shanghai deputy railway boss probed over discipline violations
KONG Zhaopin, deputy director of the Shanghai Railway Bureau, has been taken in for questioning regarding alleged discipline violations, caixin.com reported yesterday.
Kong, who is also a deputy to the National People’s Congress, was taken from his office on April 29, the report said, adding that he is likely to be questioned about his tenure as general manager of the Hejiu Railway Co.
Meng Jingen, deputy general engineer of the bureau, who retired on February 20, is also being investigated for alleged economic crimes, the report said.b
He was detained on March 19 after questions were raised during his “retirement” audit, according to the report. No further details were released.
