Don’t eat or drink on subway, please
Passengers will soon be asked not to eat or drink on Shanghai Metro trains, a senior official said yesterday.
Metro users will be asked to respect this rule, rather than having a ban set in law, said Chen Zhaofeng, an official with the construction and transport commission of the Metro operator.
Chen was speaking at a public hearing on a new Metro operation law. An outright ban had been proposed, but was removed from a draft in June over concerns about what would be covered.
