Driver who injured police officer jailed for a year

A DRUNK driver, who was also driving without license, and dragged an assistant police officer for more than 500 meters, was sentenced to one year in jail, the Jinshan District People’s Court said yesterday.
The driver, surnamed Zhou, was asked to stop for a check at a police checkpoint in Jinshan District in March this year. But he refused to stop. As officers tried to reach him, he accelerated his car and dragged an assistant police officer to over 500 meters. Zhou later surrendered himself to police and told them he simply too frightened.
