SHANGHAI government said yesterday it had donated another 1 million yuan (US$146,500) to help Yunnan Province, where about 12 million people are in danger of running out of drinking water by May.
Shanghai flood control headquarters said the money will buy such facilities as pumps and generators. So far the city has donated 3 million yuan for the province since the drought started last autumn.
