Drug addict gets death for slaying wife, neighbor

A drug addict was given death penalty for killing his wife and a neighbor in November 2011, the Shanghai No.2 Intermediate People's Court said yesterday.
Zhang Yuehai, 50, stabbed his wife to death in their home on 555 Gonghexin Road and killed a 59-year-old neighbor as he tried to hide from pursuing police, prosecutors said.
The court said Zhang had taken drugs before the slaughter and he suspected his wife had an affair. The man has been jailed many times in drug-related crimes.
