‘Drug driver’ rammed 4 cars
A SUSPECTED drug driver was held yesterday afternoon by Shanghai police in downtown, 30 minutes after he fled from the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway where he is said to have crashed into four cars.
The man is suspected of having taken methamphetamine, also known as “ice,” according to thepaper.cn.
A motorist, surnamed Huang, said that about 1:15pm a white car with license plates issued by neighboring Jiangsu Province rammed his vehicle after sounding its horn and then hit three other cars.
The car was stopped at Jing’an Temple, at the intersection of Huashan Road and Nanjing Road, around half an hour later.
Witnesses said the driver was waving a knife and injured a police officer on the hand.
An investigation is under way.
