Man charged with extorting lover

A MIDDLE-AGED man who allegedly extorted his lover after she refused his request for money is facing court, the Putuo District People’s Procuratorate said yesterday. The victim, surnamed Bao, has been in a relationship with the man surnamed Yang since 2002. Yang often borrow money from Bao and the amount reached more than 400,000 yuan (US$62,710). When Bao wanted to end the relationship in 2014, Yang kept asking her for more money and threatened to kill her family.
