Fake taxis seized

POLICE towed away 13 fake taxis parked in villages in rural Pudong’s Caolu Town yesterday morning. No drivers were found but they could be fined 3,000 yuan (US$462) and get 12 demerits on their licenses for using other people’s plates, or they could face up to 15 days of detention for using forged plates.
Police told Shanghai Daily that the fake taxis could be purchased for between 10,000 and 20,000 yuan.
