Fill up your belly on the Bund
XUHUI District has established a series of art festivals on music, food and design in the West Bund area along the Huangpu River to turn the Xuhui riverfront into a new art and fashion landmark.
An international food festival will be held during the eight-day National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays in October, when Michelin-starred chefs from Italy, Belgium and France will cook for visitors, the organizer, the West Bund Development Group, said yesterday.
More than 800 delicacies along with French wines, Belgian beers and chocolates will be served at the festival on a newly opened grassland on 3399 Longteng Avenue, named the Camp 3399, an official with the group said.
And 11 of the world’s top chefs will compete showcasing their skills.
Popular local chef, Sister Wang, famous for her homemade local dishes, will be there to teach visitors how to cook authentic Shanghai cuisine. The festival will run from October 1 through 8, from 11am to 11pm. About 100,000 visitors are expected. The autumn and winter season of the art festival, will run from September 8 to end- November.
