Fire at oil warehouse

A FIRE broke out yesterday morning at a cooking oil warehouse in the Pudong New Area. Hundreds of firefighters spent more than four hours tackling the blaze, which was eventually brought under control, authorities said. No one was hurt in the fire, which started shortly before 5am in the warehouse owned by Yijia Logistics Co. The property was almost completely engulfed in flames and heavy black smoke billowed from the building, an official said. Fifty-two fire engines were dispatched to the site, a fire control official surnamed Wang said, but they were unable to prevent more than three quarters of the building from being damaged.
