Fish Not To Be Released
OFFICIALS are reminding locals not to release fish into Suzhou Creek as the water quality still cannot sustain medium and large fish.
Around 100 dead catfish were spotted floating in the waters in August, but later investigation found that they were not raised in the creek.
Suzhou Creek now has more than 30 species of fish and will attract more as the oxygen content increases in the waterway, said Zhu Xipei, deputy director of the Shanghai Suzhou Creek Rehabilitation Project.
