Flood of slogans to promote city

A COMPETITION for slogans to back China’s application to host the 2021 WorldSkills Competition has so far drawn 3,112 entries.
Slogans came in from around the country — but Shanghai had the highest number, with 158, the city’s human resources and social security bureau.
Two people alone submitted 127 and 108 suggestions.
“I sincerely hope that Shanghai can host the international skills competition as it will be helpful promote skills development, especially in the young generation, and contribute to make China a strong manufacturing power,” said Shi Ning, a resident in northeast Liaoning Province who came up with 108 slogans.
