Flowers bloom near Disney site
THE garden near the new Shanghai Disney Resort is the place to be for lavender lovers.
The fragrant flower features prominently at a new garden that opened to the public yesterday near the resort, which opens on June 16.
The garden in the Shanghai International Tourism and Resorts Zone, which covers over 200,000 square meters, features the city's largest lavender field (200,000 plants), a rose garden and 520 other species, the Shendi Group, which operates it, announced. A lavender blossom festival will run through mid-July.
A light show will be held in the garden every night, and food stalls, toilets and stores will be operating in the garden for the convenience of visitors, the group said.
Admission to the garden is 80 yuan (US$12) on regular days.
Visitors can get to the garden via Metro Line 11.
It is five-minute walk from exit No.3 of the Disney Resort Station.
