THE Shanghai Food and Drug Administration has honored 42 thoroughfares as food-safety example streets after inspections. The 42 streets have 1,542 food producers, sellers and eateries, covering major tourist spots, business centers and areas round the Expo zone.
About 48 percent of food business earned a smiling-face sign. Food firms with excellent performance are installed with the smiling-face sign, good performers with an indifferent face and bad performers a crying face.
