Food show canceled
AN exhibition of agricultural produce traditionally held before the Spring Festival has been canceled following the fatal New Year’s Eve crush on the Bund, Oriental Morning Post reported yesterday.
Usually running for a month, the event has been held by the Shanghai Agricultural Bureau at exhibition centers across the city for 14 years, allowing residents to stock up on domestic and imported produce for the Chinese New Year.
Smaller-scale exhibitions organized by private companies will still be held.
Other events canceled include Lantern Festival celebrations at Yuyuan Garden in Huangpu District and at Guyi Garden in Jiading District.
