Former Putuo District director Cai Zhiqiang may be facing investigation by local prosecutors for alleged involvement in bribery and other disciplinary offences, according to the Xinmin.cn.
Cai, 45, had his membership of the Shanghai People's Congress revoked by its standing committee on Thursday. Cai's last public appearance as district director was on February 3. Sun Rongqian, former executive deputy director of Xuhui District, took his place.
