Hallucinating drug-user saved after threat to burn himself to death

A man who threatened to set himself on fire with a cylinder of liquefied gas while having hallucinations on drugs was saved by officers and has been detained for further investigation, police said yesterday.
The drugged man, surnamed Sun, is believed to have taken a large dose of an unnamed type of drug that caused him to have hallucinations at his home at about 6:20am on November 17, police said.
Sun was threatening to kill himself and holding a cylinder of liquefied gas and a lighter. Police evacuated the residence and cordoned off the area. Sun was persuaded to go outside and was grabbed and placed in custody by police at about 8am.
