Have You Booked Your Table Yet?
IF you want to eat out on the Lunar New Year's Eve, you may already be too late.
This year, the festival falls on February 14, which is also Valentine's Day, and many restaurants are reporting that they are already fully booked.
The traditional meal, known as nianyefan, is for family reunions in China and is a celebration similar to the Christmas dinner in the West.
Shanghai Restaurants Association officials said lunchtime celebrations were also proving popular this year.
Prices are almost the same as last year. A meal for about 10 people costs from 1,500 yuan (US$220) to 2,000 yuan, the association said.
