The convict Luo Qibing, swallowed pills containing heroin before he boarded a flight from Guizhou Province to Shanghai last October 21. Luo also inserted pills into his anus before the plane took off.
Luo was detained by police when he arrived at Hongqiao International Airport and failed an X-ray check which showed suspicious items in his rectum, the court heard.
Altogether 20 pills wrapped with plastic tape were eliminated from Luo's body after he was ordered to take laxative, the court heard. The pills were found to contain heroin weighing a total of 102.8 grams.
Luo said he transported drugs to earn delivery fees of 70 yuan each time. He also claimed the money was used for his girlfriend's medical bills.
