Hongkou to get concerts at lunchtime
WHITE-COLLAR workers in the city's Hongkou District will have a new way to spend their lunchtime next year, when inexpensive noon concerts are planned.
The Shanghai Concert Hall downtown launched noon concerts this year at a cost of only 10 yuan (US$1.60). The concerts have been popular among downtown workers and retired people. Music fans pack the hall every weekday at noon to enjoy performance staged by artists from home and abroad.
So the concert hall, in conjunction with Shanghai Music Valley, will launch a parallel session in the M1907 building at 46 Liaoning Road, Hongkou District.
It's close to the Hailun Road Station of Metro lines 4 10.
Plans are for 100 concerts next year at the Hongkou location. The first solo guitar show will be staged on January 8.
The building can accommodate 100 people. The performances will be staged every Tuesday and Friday afternoon. Contact Shanghai Concert Hall or call 021-5647-9358.
