Hotels told to clean up their acts
SEVEN hotels have been ordered to take remedial action after failing to meet hygiene standards, the Shanghai Health Supervision Agency said yesterday.
The premises were identified during checks on more than 200 chain hotel outlets that have a high turnover.
Three of the offending outlets — two in Baoshan District and one in Jinshan District — are part of the 99inn chain, where inspectors found excessive levels of bacteria on bed linen and towels.
Similar problems were found at two properties run by Jinjiang Inns in Jiading District, and a Motel168 outlet in Qingpu District.
