Internet buyer with no car wants money back
A MAN has lodged an appeal asking an electronic payment company to return 660,000 yuan (US$96,491).
Zhang Jun, from Guizhou Province, applied to the Shanghai No. 1 Intermediate People's Court to overturn a decision by Fengxian District People's Court, which ruled there was not enough evidence to support his claim.
Zhang said he transferred the money to Shanghai International Payment Solutions Co Ltd last July when he wanted to buy a BMW car on the Internet. Shanghai IPS holds money for parties who want to buy from private sellers online.
However, Zhang said the Website transferred this money to a car seller without authorization. Zhang asked IPS to return the money but it refused, saying his deal was with the seller. The district court heard that the seller could not be found.
