Japanese consulate accepts quake donation
SHANGHAI residents who want to donate to the victims of Japan's earthquake and tsunami can bring cash to the Japanese Consulate General in Shanghai, officials said today.
The consulate said their office at 8 Wanshan Road in Changning District will accept cash donation between 9am-12pm, 1:30pm-5pm on weekdays.
Chinese residents can enter the consulate directly with their ID cards; foreign residents can enter with their passports. The security guards will usher them to the reception room for donation, said Kyoko Ogawa, an official at the consulate.
No receipts will be offered by the consulate, Ogawa added.
More donation details will be available on the consulate's website tonight or tomorrow morning at www.shanghai.cn.emb-japan.go.jp. People can also dial 5257-4766 for inquiry, in Chinese and Japanese only.
