Railway police seize 1,400 knives as security measures tightened

SHANGHAI railway police said yesterday that they have confiscated more than 1,400 knives, 6.3 kilograms of paint and about 11kg of kerosene from train passengers in the past three days. Authorities said that the city’s law enforcement officers have been told to be on heightened alert since the terrorist attacks in Paris last Friday.
