Locally made walnuts, biscuits fail quality tests
BISCUITS and walnuts made by local food producers failed quality inspections due to contamination, according to Shanghai Quality Supervision & Inspection Bureau.
A batch of walnuts produced in April by Shanghai Xinrong Co Ltd was found to contain excessive mold.
Bureau officials said consumers should avoid roasted seeds and nuts tasting too sweet. They may contain excessive sweeteners.
Two sugar-free food products - a dried meat floss biscuit and an oolong (tea) biscuit - had bacterial problems. They were made by Shanghai Weikang and Shanghai Meijing.
