A MIGRANT worker is being prosecuted for allegedly selling counterfeit luxury products worth more than 7.6 million yuan (US$1.14 million).

World-renowned brands including Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel, Rolex, Omega, Longines and Cartier were among the counterfeit items seized.

Prosecutors said the man surnamed Zheng rented a ground-floor apartment in Xuhui District at the end of 2009 to store the items and then hired people to solicit buyers.

Meanwhile, the Shanghai Prosecutors' Office said yesterday 46 suspects have been charged in 30 intellectual property infringement cases this month.
