Man falls into river and drowns

THE body of a man who drowned after falling into a river was recovered yesterday in Songjiang District.

The man was seen fighting over a bag with his wife in a garden about 9:20pm on Saturday. During the fight the bag fell into the water. Witnesses said the man stopped his wife from jumping into the river and then tried to recover the bag himself. He drowned while trying to get the bag. Police said they are still investigating the incident.
