Man held for assault

A MAN has been sentenced to three months in detention for breaking a woman’s finger during a dispute at a print shop, the Hongkou District People’s Court said.

The man, surnamed Liu, visited the shop to get a copy of his ID card. Unsatisfied with the first effort, he asked for a second to be made. The female shop owner agreed, but said Liu would have to pay for two copies. A dispute broke out between the pair, during which Liu broke the unnamed woman’s left middle finger.
