Man held for fatal stabbing

A MAN has been detained for stabbing a woman to death last Friday in the Pudong New Area, local police said yesterday. The 32-year-old surnamed Tang said he stabbed his 36-year-old victim, surnamed Shen, after she refused to lend him money.
The woman was found lying in a pool of blood by a neighbor who responded to her cries for help. Police said later that Shen had suffered eight knife wounds and died at the scene.
Tang, who has a gambling addict, was apprehended on Saturday.
The case is under investigation.
