Man made butt of 'joke'

A "JOKE" played between two workers at a local luggage company backfired, a court heard yesterday, when one suffered serious internal injuries.
Ji Lin fell to the ground clutching his stomach after Li Changlong fired an air compressor at him.
Jiading District People's Court heard that Ji was the first to play the joke on his colleague after they'd finished work.
He fired a jet of air from the compressor at Li who then grabbed it from him and gave chase. When Ji saw Li was catching up, he turned his back on him to protect his face.
Li fired at his buttocks and Ji fell to the workshop floor. The unfortunate victim was taken to hospital where a doctor said he required immediate surgery.
Li, realizing he was in trouble, surrendered to the police.
The court heard that the blast from the compressor was equivalent to the force of 5 kilograms.
Because Li had surrendered to the police and had reached a compensation agreement with Ji, the court said it was prepared to be lenient.
Li was sentenced to 18 months in prison with probation of 18 months.
