Man reprimanded for carrying firecracker
A MAN carrying a 1,000-roll firecracker in his suitcase was stopped at a security checkpoint at the Shanghai South Railway Station yesterday.
Police said the man was admonished and released after the firecracker was seized. The passenger, surnamed Chen, was stopped by railway security staff when his luggage was being scanned during a security check. Police found a 1,000-roll firecracker wrapped in red paper. They immediately doused the firecracker with water and moved it to a safe place. Chen told police he was aware that fireworks were a prohibited item but still took the risk and hoped to dodge the security at the station.
