Massage firm must pay

A YOUNG woman who was sexually harassed by a male masseur has won compensation of 6,760 yuan (US$1,064), Changning District People's Court said yesterday.

The court heard a woman in her 20s, surnamed Liu, went to a massage house with her mother. As the masseuses were occupied, the house manager recommended two masseurs.

Liu said she was topless and wearing shorts provided by the massage house when the masseur, surnamed Zhang, deliberately touched her private parts and breasts during the massage.

When the massage was over, Liu asked Zhang if he operated the same way with other clients. Zhang smiled and said no, Liu told the court.

Liu complained to the massage house and reported the incident to police.

Zhang was detained for five days and was fired by the massage house.

The court ruled the house was responsible and ordered it to pay compensation.
