More Set To Tie knot
THE city is expecting a jump in the number of couples tying the knot today, Valentine's Day.
The Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau said around 680 new couples have made online appointments to draw their marriage certificates today.
This is about two or three times the usual number for this time of year, said the bureau.
Officials said there was a marriage peak on Valentine's Day in 2009, when it fell on a Saturday.
Staff are prepared for a rush today, said the bureau.
