THE Metro operator is installing raised observation platforms to ensure safety on busy station platforms.
Shentong Group said it is planning to set up two elevated areas on the Line 8 platforms at People’s Square Station.
The 30-centimeter high platforms will give Metro staff a better view to check passenger numbers and make them more visible when they give instructions.
To avoid passengers stumbling into them, the platforms will be fenced off and Metro staff will be required to wear fluorescent clothing.
They will be installed at other stations if successful.
