Office buildings prepared for rush
THE city’s office buildings are ready for resumption of work today.
The Jing’an Kerry Center is a business and commercial complex in downtown Jing’an District, holding about 170 stores and 8,000 office workers.
The frontline workers, including receptionists, cleaners and security guards, have been trained about prevention and control of the coronavirus.
Public spaces, especially the lobby and door handles, restrooms and tearooms, are disinfected several times a day. Elevators, which impose high risks of infection, are disinfected every half an hour. Elevator buttons are covered with protective film which is changed every half an hour.
Security guards, wearing disposable gloves, will open doors for visitors.
Everyone entering the complex will have their temperatures checked, and those with temperatures over 37.3 degrees Celsius will be told to see doctors. Their firms, local health authorities and neighborhood officials will be informed.
The ventilation system operates round the clock.
Hand sanitizers are available for free. Litter bins especially for used masks are placed in both offices and shopping areas.
The staff canteen orders every diner to wear a mask and have a temperature check. Diners will be arranged to sit separately.
HKRI Taikoo Hui, another commercial complex in Jing’an, has recruited “robot disinfection workers” for the building, which holds over 7,700 workers.
The robots automatically calculate disinfection routes and clean every corner, relieving the burden on cleaners and preventing cross-infections.
Also, HKRI Taikoo Hui allows only six people in an elevator.
Delivery lockers have been installed for office workers to receive their lunches. Eateries in the complex have new lunch menus for delivery.
