Officials punished for violations

SEVEN officials from Shanghai Dian Ji University were reprimanded for flouting frugality rules, the party disciplinary watchdog confirmed yesterday. Liu Jun, the director of teaching affairs office, was faulted for using public funds to travel to Lijiang and other tourist places in Yunnan Province in August last year after attending a meeting in Kunming. Six others who travelled with him were told to return the money. Yang Ruofan, vice president of the school, was also admonished.
Elsewhere, Zhang Weide, party chief of the discipline inspection commission of Huacao Town, Minhang District, was penalized for submitting fake receipts to pay for car expenses in December 2013 when he was the deputy office director of the town government.
