One injured in downtown billboard collapse

A 40-meter-long business billboard collapsed on the street in downtown Hongkou District this morning, causing one injury and damage to a car and the structures of five stores, Xinmin Evening News reported today. The victim, preparing foods inside a dumpling store, was slightly injured as the parts of the ceiling collapsed and hit his lips and hands. The accident took place at 7:10am on Linping Road in Hongkou District. The billboard was connected to the exterior walls of several stores and five of them had damage. The billboard also smashed into a parked sedan with no one inside. The cause of the accident remained unclear.
