Passenger hurt on shuttle bus
A passenger was injured when the airport shuttle bus she was on braked suddenly to make way for an airplane at Pudong International Airport at midnight on Saturday.
China Eastern Airlines, which operates the shuttle bus, said yesterday that the female passenger hurt her waist because she hit a rail on the bus as other passengers propelled toward her when the bus braked without warning.
The passengers were being transferred to the airline’s flight to Qingdao in Shandong Province.
She was sent to hospital as a precaution, it said.
The bus driver “probably braked harder than he should have,” the airline said, as the surveillance system showed the bus was moving at a normal speed.
