AUTHORITIES in Fengxian District yesterday launched an inspection of safety facilities and measures at all its swimming pools after a 13-year-old boy drowned on Saturday night at an outdoor swimming pool in Fengxian Sports Center, xinmin.cn reported. The boy was swimming in the pool with his aunt and cousin when a lifeguard saw that he had been underwater for too long. He was later pronounced dead in hospital.
