Two thirds of firecrackers checked by the city’s quality watchdog failed tests, some posing serious safety hazards, it said yesterday. Twenty batches of firecrackers out of 30 checked by the Shanghai Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau had quality problems ranging from blasting fuse to containing banned chemical compounds.
