Restaurants in Qingpu found to be unlicensed
SOME restaurants at Zhujiajiao water town in suburban Qingpu District are unlicensed, the Shanghai Consumer Rights Protection Commission said yesterday.
A study found that some other restaurants posed health risks, it said.
The Qingpu District Market Supervision and Management Bureau said it is investigating the claims made by the watchdog.
Neither organization would say if the eateries had been forced to close or punished in any way.
The commission also investigated some small hostels in the suburban areas and said that some of them had some problems, such as unclear sign boards, poor hygiene conditions and bad management. It did not elaborate.
