Scorching week ahead, say forecasters
THE summer heat is set to continue into next week with the mercury hitting 35 degrees Celsius, forecasters said.
Yesterday was the hottest day so far this year with a high of 34.1 degrees. Today will get off to a cloudy start with scattered showers, but the blue skies will return in the afternoon.
Cloudy skies with occasional afternoon thundershowers and highs of between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius are expected from tomorrow through Tuesday.
The level of precipitation in the city this flood season reached 321.6 millimeters yesterday, 60 percent higher than the recorded average, according to the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau.
