POLICE are looking for an amusement arcade owner, surnamed Lan, alleged to have kept eight gambling machines in a separate room shown only to some patrons in Hongkou Plaza mall on Xijiangwan Road in Hongkou District. These machines are illlegal in China. Police have detained two managers for questioning. One manager, surnamed Liu, told police that the owner bought the gambling machines at the end of last year and let gambler customers “in need” use them during the Spring Festival. The arcade closed last week.
