Search for killer after taxi driver stabbed

POLICE are hunting a killer who fatally stabbed a taxi driver early yesterday morning in Minhang District.
The 53-year-old victim, surnamed Tang, from suburban Fengxian District, is believed to have been attacked 20 meters from the Shanghai Jinzheng Electronic Industry Co Ltd on Jinglian Road, at about 2am.
He was found dead in his Shanghai Haibo Taxi Co cab with severe neck wounds.
Green areas which Tang’s cab is said to have careered into were cordoned off.
A security guard at Shanghai Jinzheng said Tang tried to pull over at the company gate after the attack, in what he believes was a desperate attempt to get help.
When the victim’s family later arrived at the spot, they knelt before Tang’s bloodstains on the ground.
Tang’s sister said her brother’s belongings had not been taken by the killer.
