Senior to the rescue

a 60-YEAR-OLD man doing his morning exercises yesterday came to the rescue of a woman who jumped into the Huangpu River from Binjiang Avenue at the Bund about 7am. The senior, surnamed Chen, leapt into the water and held the woman afloat until a marine bureau boat on routine duty heard cries for help and came to their aid. The woman was in feeble condition and called for help when she saw the boat, said marine officials. They said the 25-year-old jumped into the river due to personal problems.
