Shanghai Daily helps children with autism
A CHARITY Christmas event held by Shanghai Daily and Toys“R”Us China yesterday at the Super Brand Mall in the Pudong New Area helped deliver festive cheer and goodies to autistic children.
During the ceremony, children with autism sang Christmas carols for guests and showed off their art works. Mark Murphy, managing director of Toys“R”Us China, Joyce Wu, editor-in-chief of Shanghai Daily, and members of Consular Spouses Shanghai attended the ceremony and exchanged gifts with the children.
“The more you give, the more you receive. We shall take the initiative to care more about them,” said Valeria Herran, wife of the consul general of Colombia.
Data shows there are more than 1.6 million autistic children in China, with the numbers being diagnosed on the increase.
