Shanghai residents rush to give money

SHANGHAI residents have rushed to help the victims of the Ya'an earthquake, giving millions of yuan in donations.
The Shanghai Charity Foundation said that, as of 5pm yesterday, it had received about 13.09 million yuan (US$2.1 million) and relief materials and equipment worth 132,000 yuan from individuals and companies.
Donors included a 94-year-old man and a five-year-old boy.
