Shelters, labs face problems
POLICE said yesterday that the city's government-run stray dog shelters and certified labs for treating dogs' dead bodies face a large shortfall in capacity and problems with aging facilities.
Government funds will be in place and the shelters and labs will be revamped, expanded and reinforced before the end of this year. Besides processing corpses, the labs also test whether the dogs carried rabies.
